Welcome to our Pre-school at Giffard Park Primary School

Smart Steps at Giffard Park is a Pre-School for 3 and 4 year olds, with all the benefits of being
attached and managed by Giffard Park Primary school. We have a stimulating environment both
inside and outside in the school grounds where children are supported to be creative, imaginative,
curious, and independent. We provide an exciting and ambitious curriculum enabling children to
develop their knowledge and understanding of the world, their vocabulary, early phonics, and maths
skills. The curriculum has strong links to the school’s curriculum supporting their learning and
transitions into school. We work hard to support children’s social interactions and enjoy watching
them build early friendships and relationships with others.
Our staff are an experienced enthusiastic team who provide a happy, secure, and friendly
environment. They work in partnership with parents and carers to build on the child’s early learning
experiences. Providing a wealth of enriching activities including the use of our sensory room, forest
school sessions, cooking, gardening, music, visits to the library and many more.

We offer morning, afternoon or fulltime sessions everyday day during term time

Fees

Morning session (08:30 - 11:30)   £16.50

Lunch session (11:30 - 12:30)   £5.50

Afternoon session (12:30 - 15:30) £16.50

Full day £38.50 (7hours)

Hot Meal (£2.40)

Snack £1 per week voluntary contribution

* lunch session must be booked as part of a morning or afternoon session.

Smart Steps at Giffard Park accept both private and funded children. All 3 or 4-year old children in
England are entitled to 570 hours free child care or early education per year, which equates to 15
hours per week, for 38 weeks each year during term time. Some 3 or 4-year old children will be
eligible for 30 hours funded sessions
Children can be registered and start pre-school when they turn 3. Funded sessions begin the term
after they turn 3 years old. Until then they can be paid for privately.

Smart Steps at Giffard Park will accept most major Childcare Vouchers or payment through the
Government Tax-Free ChildCare scheme. Please enquire with the School Office for further details.
