Year 6 Viking Day

Year 6 Viking Day

Year 6 were very lucky to have History off the Page come in and host a viking day for us. In the morning we tried out many crafts and jobs that they would have had, including: making medicines, creating runes, making our own wax candles, making clay pots and making Thor necklaces and bracelets (to name a few).
We learnt soldier formations and practised these ready for battle. In the afternoon we looked at how archaeologists dig for clues about the past as well as watching one of our casts be turned into metal!
The organisers praised our outstanding behaviour and said we were some of the politest and well-mannered children they had met!
