Writer's Day

12th January 2016

Writer's Day

On the 12th January some of our Year 4 and Year 5 children attended Long Meadow Schoool to take part in a Writers’ Day. The day was led by the poet Kate Williams and it proved to be a very rewarding and educational experience. The children spent the day learning about differrent ways of writing short stories and poems. Here is a piece from one of the children who attended:

Shooting Stars

Whizzing, shooting through the sky,

Burning brightly through the night,

Sun can set then can rise

but they'll still be racing through the skies.

Running, darting, stopping, starting

they never stop those dazzling stars.

So down to Uranus and up to Mars,

never getting out of breath.

These are galliant balls of burning fire

lighting up the night.
