Roald Dahl Trip - Year 1& 2
20th April 2017
Year 1&2 visit the Roald Dahl Museum
Year 1 and 2 visited the Roald Dahl Gallery and Buckingham museum this week. The children were whisked in to the magical world of Roald Dahl where they; crawled through Mr Fox's tunnel, went inside the giant peach and magnified the insects from the story, experimented with different sounds which the BFG might have made and discovered Matilda's library which contained many Roald Dahl books and facts as well as 'The Chockey'! They also played with shadows and optical illusions and were shrunk by Mr Wonker's magic camera.
The children's other activity involved discovering the surprises in the Buckingham museum then using this as inspiration to design a square of a patch work quilt using various materials. We were thrilled with the children's designs and have brought the squares back to make a patch work quilt for Charlie Bucket's grandparents.
Beau W (Year 2) - We went to the Roald Dahl Museum. We saw the giant peach and fantastic Mr Foxes tunnel, the Matilda library and the Chokey. We saw Twits upside down house. My favourite part was the Roald Dahl gallery. Then we saw the great glass elevator. Then saw the BFG horn and dream bottles. We also saw the chocolate from Charlie and the chocolate factory. We saw Mikes TV when he shrinks and it made us very small.
